In Vasant Vihar area of south-west Delhi, a young man murdered his friend by slitting his throat for just Rs 1500. The deceased has been identified as Ashwini (35). In the early hours his body was found lying in the parking lot of Kusumpur hill. The police reached the spot as soon as the information was received. Apart from the crime team, FSL was also called to the spot.
During the investigation, the accused was identified after a few hours. After this the police arrested the accused Sanjay. The accused told that he had lent Rs 1500 to Ashwini. After drinking alcohol at night, Sanjay asked Ashwini for his money back. When she refused, the accused broke the liquor bottle and slit Ashwini’s throat with it. Police have recovered the mobile phone of the deceased and the blood stained slippers of the accused.
At around 6:42 am on Tuesday, Vasant Vihar police station received information that a young man had been murdered by slitting his throat. When the team reached there, the caller Akash was found. He told that someone had murdered his brother Ashwini by slitting his throat. His body is lying in the parking lot near Kusumpur Pahari, Madrasi Temple. The investigation team was called to the spot. Later the body was sent for post-mortem. Police started investigation with the help of CCTV footage and technical surveillance. After investigation, a youth named Sanjay was found involved in the incident.
South-West District Police Deputy Commissioner Rohit Meena said that Sanjay also lives in Kusumpur Hills and is a friend of Ashwini. On interrogation, accused Sanjay told that on Monday night both of them drank alcohol till late night in the parking lot. At around 1:30, Sanjay asked Ashwini for his Rs 1500, which he had lent. When she refused, he killed her by slitting her throat.
After the murder, he took Ashwini’s mobile and hid it on the roof of the hut near the dustbin. After reaching home, he took off his slippers and wore shoes. Apart from recovering Ashwini’s mobile phone, the police have also recovered Sanjay’s blood stained slippers. The matter is being investigated by interrogating the accused.
