Zeenat Aman Told how she make ready Raj Kapoor to cast her in Satyam Shivam Sundaram | How Zeenat Aman became ‘Rupa’ of Raj Kapoor’s ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’? The veteran actress told

Zeenat Aman On Her Casting In Satyam Sivam Sundaram: Zeenat Aman has been a beautiful and veteran actress of Bollywood. He has done many great films and has ruled the hearts of the audience with his acting. The actress often shares interesting stories from her films on Instagram. Also on Tuesday and Wednesday, Zeenat Aman, in a two-part post on her Instagram, revealed how she convinced director Raj Kapoor to cast her in the 1978 iconic romantic drama ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’.

Zeenat, in her Insta post on Tuesday, shared a picture from the sets of the film ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’ and wrote, “In December we will celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of extra ordinary Raj Kapoor. I have repeated the story many times of how he taught me Satyam. Came to cast as Roopa in Shivam Sundaram. But this is an important story of my career.

,Satyam Shivam Sundaram, How did Zeenat become Rupa?
Zeenat wrote in her post, “It was around 1976, and we were shooting for Vakeel Babu. Rajji was playing the lead role, while his younger brother Shashi Kapoor and I were playing each other’s lovers. Rajji had a revolutionary approach towards his art, and he was excited for a long time about the story idea of a man in love with a woman’s voice. It happens, but he could not connect himself with her appearance. He told it with frankness and excitement, but not even once did he give a hint that I could be a part of this film.

I was already a star in my own right, and their lack of interest in casting me was starting to bother me. I knew that my “modern image” with the mini skirt and boots was the reason for this. So I decided to take matters into my own hands. I knew that Rajji spent most of his free time in his R.K. Used to spend time on the set at ‘The Cottage’ located in the studio grounds. It was here that he used to hold meetings or host small events. So I made my move. One evening, after finishing the shoot early, I spent an extra 30 minutes in my dressing room getting myself ready in my interpretation of Roopa. I wore a ghagra choli, braided my hair with a parandi and then applied glue and stuck tissue paper on my face so that there would be marks on my face. When I reached The Cottage, Rajji’s right hand John welcomed me at the door. She looked at me with questioning eyes and I said, “Tell sir that Rupa has come.”

Gold coins were received as signing amount
On Wednesday, Zeenat shared a picture with Raj Kapoor and his wife Krishna Raj Kapoor, and continued her story by writing, “…Continuing from yesterday. The ever reliable John messaged me and soon I was in front of Rajji.” Oh! How happy the director was to see me as a village girl. I learned later that he was so impressed that an actress like me could go to such lengths to prove herself! When his laughter subsided, Rajji made a telephone call. Twenty minutes later, his wife Krishna ji was at the door with a handful of gold coins in her purse.

Rajji handed it over to me with great confidence as a signing amount… and I became Rupa. I kept those guineas for decades, until they were stolen from my house a few years ago. Still, given the choice between this memory and that gold, I will always choose the memory. My previous post showed that Rajji was healing my wounds on the set. The glue that was used to give me this look wreaked havoc on my skin for weeks. ,
